Welcome to Year 6!
Welcome Back. I hope you had a lovely half term.
Well, now we have the SATS out of the way we have lots of fun things to enjoy this half term!
The Rocky Monster Show is going to be amazing. Already assigned their characters and roles the children are busy practicing for the show. I can already see the children getting into role!! The show will be Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July this year at 6pm. Tickets will be on sale soon.
A trip to Essex University is also organised for us this half term. We are going to be having art workshops and drama too. The children should get a little taster of university life and I am sure it will be an enjoyable day.
Mersea coming up on 11th June will be a great opportunity for the children to use their team building skills and this will be a first for me too! As you may have guessed, I don't do camping, but I am looking forward to it!
Wednesday 20th June we are off to Efteling. This will promise to be a great trip and for some it will be their first time on a boat to travel to Holland. We will take lots of pictures of the children so don't worry. We will, however, bring back very tired children - so be warned they will need a good sleep when they return!
Tuesday 3rd July is year 6 induction day. On this day you will need to deliver your child to the Harwich School and pick them up from the school. I am sure you will be receiving information from the Harwich School if you have not already.
Friday 6th July we are visiting the Naze Wildlife Trust Centre where we will have the day exploring the coast of Walton-on-the-Naze The children will be fossil hunting and learning all about the wildlife in the area. This day has been funded by the Nineveh Trust who we were lucky enough to get a grant from which allowed us to take the whole school on different days to the Naze for a day. We would like to publicly thank the Nineveh Trust for their grant.
On Friday 13th July at 6.30 we have the prom. As you know the children have opted for a theme of Bugsy Malone for this. It promises to be a great night with several staff already with their outfits for the evening. I am hoping for a couple of surprises for the children on the night too, but sshhhh.......
Our leavers assembly will be on Friday 20th July. A celebration of the children's achievements since being in this school and for us to wish them a fond farewell and good luck for their secondary school life.
WOW so much going on, I am not sure how we are going to fit it all in. Of course we are still squeezing some lessons in as well!
We also still have our small group interventions running and we have re-selected pupils for these based on their needs but if you feel your child would benefit from sessions please speak to me and we can sort something out I am sure.
Thank you for visiting our page.
