Welcome to Reception!
Summer Term
This half term our topic has been 'under the sea' and 'the seaside'. Take a look at what we've been up to!
Our topic during the first half term was animals. We were focusing on the stories of Rumble in the Jungle, The Gruffalo and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children were busy learning new stories and facts about the different animals. They enjoyed exploring different animals' habitats and comparing them to where they live.
Butterfly Life Cycle
We have been very lucky to have our very own caterpillars in our class! We have watched them grow from small caterpillars, to making their chrysalides to eventually emerging as butterflies. We then set them free to start the cycle all over again!
The Gruffalo Class Assembly
The children had a fabulous time doing our class assembly on the story - The Gruffalo. Well done to everybody. It was fantastic!
World Book Day
The children all looked fabulous in their World Book Day costumes! They enjoyed discussing their favourite books and the characters.
Wellie Wednesday
The children enjoy learning in the outside areas too. They are given the opportunity to explore the environment, such as the Wildlife Area, where 'Wellie Wednesdays' take place. This term, we have been focusing on animals. The children have found lots of minibeasts and other clues that animals have been nearby.
