Big Thank You for Book Fair Support!

Well a big thank you to all the parents, carers, grandparents etc. that were pestered and came along with their child to the School Book Fair to make a purchase.  A fantastic £794.70 was spent and this meant that as a school we were able to purchase books to the value of £416.40 WOW!! That is an incredible amount and I’m sure the children will take great pleasure in reading the new books in their classes.  Big Thanks to Miss Pells for organising this.

School Council Secure Change in School Dinners

Over the last half a term members of the School Council have been busy researching most popular and least popular school dinners.  They have counted up the amount of hot, vegetarian and cold dinners using the dinner registers to get their results.  They then took children’s opinions on lunchtimes and wrote a report of their findings.

On Friday 1oth February 2017, Miss Steward and Sophie Greenhalgh (School Council Representative) had a meeting with Mrs Anderson, Mrs Fensom (Governor in charge of School Council) and two representatives from Chartwells (Our School Dinner Provider).

Sophie was excellent in putting over the views and opinions from the School Council’s dinner project and the views from pupils within our School.  As a result Chartwells have agreed to make a number of changes to the menu following on from the feedback from the children.  Most importantly Thursdays dinner choice will be changing from ‘Global Adventure’ to ‘Pupil Choice’ day.  Miss Steward and School Council will be discussing 6 new menu choices with the children over the coming weeks.  Well done to School Council for making a change!
